Finally Made it 2 100 Subscribers

So I finally made it to 100 subscribers on YouTube. I am soooo happy. Most people look at me like I'm crazy but hey, I have seen so many people make money off of being a youtube partner and thas what my goal is. But I was told that you gotta get up there in the subscribers and views in order to even be considered for partner. But I am slowly but surely making it tho. Anyway, so as a little thank you, I decided to come out of my own pocket and host a small giveaway slash contest. So here are my vids, had to do 2 because people misunderstood the rules to the contest.

Been Gonne For a Minute

Ok, so I have been gone for a minute but I'm back now with stories and videos. But first, let's get into the hair. I broke down and put a relaxer in my hair. I purchased an Argan Oil relaxer by Cream of Nature. I felt so ashamed of myself afterwards. I have been completely natural for a year and 3 months. But I was so tired of the braids. I mean they were so easy to maintain, but just the process of putting them in was so draining. Dealing with my 22 children, it normally takes me anywhere between 2 and 4 days to complete a braided look in my own hair.

So I am rocking my flat ironed look since its too damn hot to wear curls in my hair. But a sista did get a good weave though. Like I said, I was so tired of braiding my hair, so I skipped a sew in weave and just used my bonding glue and finished in 15 or 25 minutes. I can't remember. But anyway I will show pics in my next post, I promise. But yea, just had to come in here real quick.

Poetic Justice / Dookie Braids

So, me being the self proclaimed "Queen of Braids", I am deciding to go with the jumbo box braids. AKA the Poetic Justice braids AKA Dookie Braids.

I have no idea what possessed me to decide to do these braids but I was looking for a different look. Seems like I cannot focus on just one braided style when doing my own hair.

I noticed that when I go to the salon to get my hair braided, trust and believe if I am paying $150 or greater, I'm keeping them bad boys in for a minimum of at least 2 months. But doing my own, I get bored after 2 weeks at  the most before taking them out.

A friend of mine explained to me that keeping braids in for a long time, that I am doing more harm to my hair than good. She also explained to me that, by me doing my own hair I don't braid tight so this is a plus. Since I am not putting that much stress on my hair. Not to mention, by me taking my hair out every 2 or 3 weeks, I am properly washing and maintaining my hair as I should be.

Now to my jumbo box braids. These braids are really cute. But you must properly maintain your hair while wearing these. Here are a few rules that I go by while wearing these jumbo sized braids.

Number 1: Make sure that your hair is properly washed, conditioned, moisturized and trimmed
Number 2: Make sure that your parts are equal to the amount of false hair that you will be using for your braid. If you part a small section of hair and use an excessive amount of false hair, you hair is likely to break
Number 3: Do not braid your hair super tight because this too will cause a considerable amount of breakage upon removing.
Number 4: You must keep your scalp moisturized everyday. A healthy scalp equals healthy strong hair.

I am using a new product in my hair and am hoping for positive results. I am using Cream  of Nature shampoo with the coconut and sunflower oil along with Cream of Nature Argan Oil intense conditioner along with the Argan oil polish.

Hopefully I am going to be able to pull this style off myself because my poor hair can't take the ladies at the shop doing it. I am waaaaay too tender headed to have them doing it.

I strated late yesterday on my hair and I already completed the front. Think I am going to rest my poor hands today and finish up tomorrow. Once I finish I will be doing a vid with detailed info on exactly how I do my braids so stay tuned loves.

Is Indian Hair Worth Going Broke

I am a fan of a good weave from time too time when I am not wearing my braids. But this Indian Remy Hair craze is getting Re-Got-Dayum-Diculous.

Oh my goodness, I have seen these Remi wigs starting at $190 all the way up to $5k. Then you got the weaves that range anywhere from $60 up to $360 a pack depending on length. And the big question I have is, Why the hell you gonna go broke over some hair that you're just gonna take out and throw away cause it shed so much?

I am all for having a nice weave that is somewhat undetectable to most folk. Or even just looking good for the hell of it. But, I have seen first hand people getting robbed for this hair, hell even get evicted cause they rather have some nice silky Indian hair, instead of paying their bills.

If you got it to spend then by all means, do what you don Mami. But to the ones that's getting by on food stamps, living on section 8, or living with their mama and 3 kids, you don't got it like that and you really need to reevaluate your priorities.

I treated myself to a pack of Saga Gold Remi. It was 12 inches and a beautiful blonde. While wearing it, I noticed that the texture of hair resembled the Milkyway Que hair that I had purchased also. The Mlikyway Que hair that I purchased was $29.99 for 16 inches. I felt like the biggest fool ever cause that Remi hair cost me $75 just for the 12 inches that I purchased.

I made a vow that if I do decide to get a weave again, I am going to get the Milkyway Que haiir from now on because I could not see myself spending all that money for hair that I would normally have to keep in a ponytail anyway since I have very small children.

To each is own ladies but in my opinion it ain't worth having sexy silky hair while I either living on the street for not paying my rent or starving cause I used my grocery money for hair.

My Micros/Sew In hair

ok y'all so I know this is a long overdue video, but i have been super busy these past couple of weeks. So here it is, already uploaded on youtube but this is my Micro Braids / Sew In weave. I think I took this style out of my hair within 5 days because I was not satisfied with the quality of the braiding hair. It was SUPER shiny and was almost plastic looking. I tried every trick, but could not make the hair look more natural. All in all, the freetress braid is not one of my favorites. I am going to stick to my regular Milkyway human hair for my micro braiding. Yea, I know Milkyway and Freetress are all from the SNG Hair company but the synthetic is not for my micros..... Anyway here goes the vids loves

bornprettystore.com Review

It's finally here !!!! My 3 color acrylic system has finally arrived after the long wait. I ordered it on May 5 and received it yesterday, which was June 1, 2011. My product came from Singapore, so I was told that international packages can take up to 45 days dealing with the US Postal Service.
I paid an extra $3 for it to be sent registered mail so I can have a tracking number. But USPS is not like FedEx and UPS where there are details on the transit of your package every time it is scanned. So even though it was only $3, it was a complete waste to me.
Their customer service was great though. Within hours of me contacting them via email, I received a response. I spoke with Sophie and she was just darling. She also informed me that if I want to pay extra I can have my order shipped through UPS. So I think next time I will be going that route. I mean, I don't mind paying a little bit extra since I didn't pay an arm and leg for my product.
One flaw was that the acrylic powder was in a small plastic container which wasn't sealed very tightly. Which caused just a little bit of powder to spill out and leave a thin coat on my items.
Nothing was damaged and everything I ordered was there..... Out of a 10 rating I give them a 10 on customer service and a 9 on shipping. I am not a very patient person but now that I know I can have my shipping expedited I am good.
